High Speed Craft

Hart, Fenton & Company has extensive experience in the procurement, design, construction and operation of High Speed monohull and catamaran ferries.

The company’s reputation for speed began with the pioneering wave piercing SeaCat and SuperSeaCat concepts for Sea Containers Ferries Ltd. This work culminated in Hoverspeed Great Britain, which won the Hales trophy with an eastbound Atlantic crossing of 79 hours and 54 minutes.

More recently, the company led conversion design for the 96m INCAT 050 catamaran. The vessel, previously chartered to the US Navy, now provides the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s FastCraft Liverpool to Douglas service - reducing the crossing time for 850 passengers and crew to two and a half hours.

This project experience means Hart, Fenton & Company’s clients benefit from a sound understanding of High Speed monohulls and catamarans together with light aluminium structures and high performance propulsion.
