Brief

In December 2001 Sea Containers Limited purchased m.v. Öresund a 2200 Lane Metre Ro-pax vessel. Hart Fenton were commissioned to convert the vessel from a rail/freight ship to a rail/freight/passenger ship.

Detail

Hart Fenton developed the conversion specification, allowing various shipyards to tender. Detailed contract negotiation followed. The contract was placed with Remontowa in Gdansk Poland, for re-delivery of the vessel in September 2002. Hart Fenton are currently overseeing the reconstruction as well as carrying out plan approval and technical discussions with the yard and their suppliers.
